We recently were turned on to an art project that has been ongoing for the last two years. Breast cancer survivors are invited to be the canvas to visionary body-painting artist, Lisa Scholder.
Scholder says that, “Once the women can see their bodies in a new and beautiful way, it changes how they view their breast cancer.”
The video can be seen here and has won a Telly award. What started out as a little art project has taken on a life of its own. It takes between 6-10 hours to paint each survivor. The photos have been enlarged and can be brought anywhere for exhibits.
The “Faces of Courage” project, working in conjunction with the Moffitt Cancer Center, recently presented the first public Gallery showing of the “Bodies of Courage” exhibit. This event served as a house warming for Moffitt’s new International Plaza, located in Tampa Florida.
