Woman dies during drill in Bangalore

Nalina C. R, a 24-year-old woman garment factory worker, fell to death from the third floor of the factory unit during a fire drill at Yeshwantpur in Bangalore on Friday, police said.

She fell when the rope snapped as she was coming down during the drill, they said, adding that she sustained severe head injuries. She died while being taken to a private hospital.

The drill was being conducted by the Fire Department in association with the factory to test the preparedness of factory workers and fire officials during a fire, police said.
