BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Sunday alleged that the government has resorted to negative propaganda against BNP's Chittagong road march.
The aim of the propaganda is to create confusion and doubt among the people over the road march, Rizvi said at a press conference at BNP central office in Naya Paltan in the city.
The BNP will launch a two-day road march towards Chittagong on January 8.
As part of the party's programme to drum up public support in favour of reinstatement of the caretaker government system for the next general elections, the BNP-led four-party alliance has been holding road marches across the country.
Rizvi also demanded the release of all BNP activists arrested during the countrywide violence on December 18.
Criticising the screening of Indian films in Bangladeshi cinema halls, the BNP leader accused the government of damaging the country’s culture.
He also called upon the government to stop showing the Indian films in the country's cinema halls.
