Lok Sabha on Tuesday adjourned till 12 pm after frequent disruptions by
members on a host of issues, including Team Anna members' comments
against parliamentarians.
Janata Dal (U) chief Sharad Yadav's notice for motion to censure members
of Team Anna is likely to be taken up at 4 pm on
Tuesday. The NDA has demanded the suspension of the
Question Hour over the matter of Team Anna members using 'abusive'
language against parliamentarians, including JD (U) chief Sharad Yadav.
A resolution may be moved by the Chair and put to vote then or later in the day.
Cutting across party lines, Lok Sabha members on Monday launched an
all-out attack against Team Anna for its alleged derogatory language
against parliamentarians amid indications that a resolution condemning
the remarks could be moved Tuesday.
During a debate on Monday on the alleged use of intemperate language
by members of anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare's team against
Parliamentarians, JD(U) President Sharad Yadav asked the Chair to move a
resolution condemning this incident.
The whole House, cutting across party lines, was perturbed at the
terms used against Parliamentarians at Jantar Mantar on Sunday during
Hazare's fast.
Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and parliamentary affairs minister
Pawan Kumar Bansal had discussed the prospect of getting the Chair to
move a resolution in this regard which would be supported by the House.
Since the Lok Sabha was adjourned abruptly on Monday by the Deputy
Speaker due to uproar over the Telangana issue by TRS members, no
measure could be taken up.
However, Sushma Swaraj had said that the issue was alive and could come up for discussion again in the House.
