The International Crimes Tribunal will take decision Monday whether it would take into congnisance the charges brought against former Jamaat-e-Islami chief Ghulam Azam in connection with crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.
The three-judge tribunal headed by its Chairman Justice Nizamul Huq also scheduled to hear Ghulam Azam’s petition seeking release of the charges.
The tribunal on Thursday fixed the date after the prosecution submitted rearranged formal charges against the Jamaat leader complying with a previous ICT order of December 26 last year.
The prosecution charged Ghulam Azam with his involvement in the genocide, rapes and arson committed during Bangladesh's 1971 Liberation War against Pakistan which the Jamaat leader denies.
